Common Questions
Can I still get into my computer?
Yes. The focus overlay has an override button — type a short reason (min 10 characters) and it's dismissed. Every override is logged. The friction is intentional but never a lockout.
What if I need to stay home for a delivery?
Use the Pause feature. Pick a duration (1 min to 2 hours) and GTFO goes quiet until it expires. Or write a quick override reason.
Does it track my location or browsing?
No. GTFO only checks if your WiFi matches your tagged home network. It doesn't record GPS, browsing history, keystrokes, or screen content. Your external IP is used locally for network matching and never sent to our servers.
What happens outside focus hours?
Nothing. GTFO runs silently in your system tray and only activates during the hours you configured. Evenings and weekends are yours.
Will there be a paid version?
Maybe later. For the Windows MVP, GTFO is focused on one thing: shipping a stable free core tool that actually changes behavior.
